Sr. Operation Wireless Engineer

We have a client in San Francisco who is looking for a Sr. Operations Engineer

The position will focus on the core functions of network and security support, engineering: planning, implementation, analysis, maintenance, administration and reporting. This individual will be required to apply solid technical, business, and problem solving skills in any situation.

Responsibilities:

• Work VERY closely with business and application owners on design, documentation of new application deployment and enhancements
• Expect to be go to person for Aruba Wireless and Clearpass
• Ensure application and network designs to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and security best practices
• Provide technical expertise in business initiatives and projects
• Configure and install network and security related hardware and software
• Troubleshoot and administer security services, including External/Internal DNS, SSL certificates
• Strong understanding of IT Governance Controls
• Implement Solarwinds features and adjust monitoring as needed
• Provide day-to-day support of the LAN, WAN, and WLAN network
• Perform scheduled and emergency network maintenance
• Experience with SIEMs tools and also know how to use Splunk to find root cause of issue, even if it’s not a network issue.
• Working with application owners to troubleshoot, even though it may not be a network issue
• Manage and maintain network and security documentation through collaborative applications
• Proactively identify, isolate and resolve network problems to avoid minimal impact to the business
• Perform internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance with all security policies and procedures which includes internal penetration and vulnerability scans
• Evaluate new and emerging network security trends, products and technologies
• Must be proactive and take initiative to find out what can be done to improve the network

Skills And Knowledge Required:

• Aruba wireless experience a MUST
• Aruba Clearpass experience a MUST, including 802.1X, Radius, AAA, policy Management, B.Y.O.D, Guess access
• Fortinet experience is extremely helpful
• Business Analyst experience EXTREMELY helpful
• Security experience a must, including SSL Certificate administration
• Retail environment support extremely helpful
• Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities
• Experience with Security preferred, including experience in the setup, tuning and management of security
• appliances (next gen firewalls, IPS/IDS, ACS, web filters)
• Ecommerce Data Center support/engineering experience
• Experience with VPN technologies (both IPSec and SSL)
• Familiar with Layer 3-8 troubleshooting
• Knowledge of diagnostic networking tools (do you know how to read a packet capture)
• Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation and 7 by 24 on-call support
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
